Editor’s note: We are accepting submissions for our summer 2013 issue through May 31.
First and foremost, we are a journal of creative nonfiction. Please do not send us fiction or poetry.
All written work should submitted through our online submissions manager.
Proofreading before submitting is generally a good rule of thumb. All submitted work should be of the highest quality.
Pieces should be submitted as .doc or .docx files, and writers should include the title of their piece, word count, author name as they would like it to appear in publication, and a short bio in their cover letter.
Submissions should be limited to 3,000 words. This is a guideline, not a rule, and we will consider longer works of exceptional quality.
We accept previously unpublished work only. Simultaneous submissions are, of course, perfectly fine. We only ask that you drop us a note and withdraw your submission as soon as your work is accepted elsewhere.
At this time, we are not able to financially compensate artists for their work. However, individuals retain all rights to their work and do not have to ask permission to submit or publish their writing or photography in other publications, blogs and anthologies, or on other websites.
